The end of the tennis season is fast approaching.
The Annual General Meeting to elect a new Executive Committee is on September 13^th at 6:00 p.m. It's been great time working with the club, but the same executives have held their posts for a number of years and we look forward to some fresh blood and new talent to take the club forward. I encourage all members who are interested in joining the executive team to nominate themselves.

The following positions are open this season:

• Vice President
• House / Stewards Supervisor
• Playing Chair
• Social Representative
• Membership Coordinator
• Junior Representative
• Publicity

If you would like to know more about the responsibilities of the positions, you can refer to the GCTC Constitution.

Please note that nominations close on September 6^th. Nominations can be submitted by e-mail (info@glencairntennis.com) or by signing names on the form posted in the Club house.

Nominations for executive positions are now open. Submit your nomination by Monday, September 6, 2010. To nominate a member either sign their name on the form posted in the clubhouse or send an e-mail to info@glencairntennis.com with the person's name you would like to nominate, along with your name and the position you are nominating them for.

The officer positions open for election (2-year term) include President and Vice President. The standing committee chairman positions open for election (1-year term) include Social, Playing, Publicity, House and Grounds, Membership, Junior and Stewards.

Club Tournament
The tournament will run from September 10 to September 12. Events will include mens singles; ladies singles; mens doubles; ladies doubles and mixed doubles. Sign-up sheets are now posted in the club house until August 31.

Sasha, along with 8 other U12 boys, will represent Ontario at the U12 Nationals at Grey Rocks Tennis La Belle (Mont-Tremblant, July 30 - August 5).

The post on court #1 will also be under repair from June 17^th to June 21^st.

I would like to welcome you to the Glen Cairn Tennis Club, which has been serving Kanata and area residents since 1978.
In 2009, our membership grew to 413 members, many who have been with the club for ten years and longer.

Our club offers a variety of tennis programs for all skill levels. I invite you and your children to take lessons, participate in skills clinics, play social tennis or join competitive leagues.

I would like to recognize our club executive, who generously give their time to run the club. Thanks also to our many members who help out with club maintenance and with organizing tennis activities throughout the season.

Enjoy tennis this summer on the Glen Cairn tennis courts and have a great and healthy season!

Glen Cairn Tennis Club registration day: Saturday April 24, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Hazeldean Mall.

Annual Clean-up day: Saturday May 1, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

It's been a great season of tennis! On behalf of the executive, I would like to thank you for your participation in lessons, events and leagues this year and hope that you enjoyed your summer on the courts.

The season will officially end on Friday October 2, 2009. Please be aware that the clubhouse will be closed and wind screens and nets taken down.
