Message from the President
Hello GCTC members,
The end of the tennis season is fast approaching.
The Annual General Meeting to elect a new Executive Committee is on September 13th at 6:00 p.m. It's been great time
working with the club, but the same executives have held their posts for a number of years and we look forward to
some fresh blood and new talent to take the club forward. I encourage all members who are interested in joining the
executive team to nominate themselves.
The following positions are open this season:
- President
- Vice President
- House / Stewards Supervisor
- Playing Chair
- Social Representative
- Membership Coordinator
- Junior Representative
- Publicity
If you would like to know more about the responsibilities of the positions, you can refer to the GCTC Constitution.
Please note that nominations close on September 6th. Nominations can be submitted by e-mail (info@glencairntennis.com) or by signing names on the form posted in the Club house.

The resurfacing of the courts started on August 17th.
As of August 24th, the project is not yet
complete, but soon the newly surfaced courts will be ready for play.

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General meeting (AGM) will be held on Monday September 13th from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. (Raindate Thursday September 16th).
Nominations for executive positions are now open. Submit your nomination by Monday, September 6, 2010. To nominate a member either sign their name on the form posted in the clubhouse or send an e-mail to info@glencairntennis.com with the person’s name you would like to nominate, along with your name and the position you are nominating them for.
The officer positions open for election (2-year term) include President and Vice President. The standing committee chairman positions open for election (1-year term) include Social, Playing, Publicity, House and Grounds, Membership, Junior and Stewards.

Resurfacing and Club Tournament
Resurfacing
The resurfacing of the courts is scheduled from Aug 16 - 23. The courts will be unavailable for tennis during this time.
Club Tournament
The tournament will run from September 10 to September 12. Events will include mens singles; ladies singles; mens
doubles; ladies doubles and mixed doubles. Sign-up sheets are now posted in the club house until August 31.

Congratulations
Congratulations to junior member of the Glen Cairn Tennis Club Sasha Mironov and his Coach Maria Klokotzky.
Sasha, along with 8 other U12 boys, will represent Ontario at the U12 Nationals at Grey Rocks Tennis La Belle (Mont-Tremblant, July 30 - August 5).
Good luck to our little Champion.
